so here comes the long and DETAILED birth story of number two... so you've been warned :)

Tuesday march 29th I went to my final doctors appointment hoping he would say "wow lets just head down to labor and delivery and get this baby out" of course that didnt happen and all he said was you're 2 1/2 inches dilated and still 60% effaced (the week before i was a 2 and 60%) needless to say i was disappointed i hadn't progressed further but he still stripped my membranes just to see if that could kick start anything... it didnt.

Friday evening, after a long week of false labor and no baby i finally told my mom to go get the castor oil! i tried this with Luke and it didnt even give me diarrhea (tmi) so i didnt think it would really affect me too much this time, boy was I wrong. About three hours later (10pm) i was so nauses so Shawn and i went for a walk, we got about 5 houses down the street before i started puking my guts out literally, i dont know where it was coming from because after about the third or fourth puke i thought i was for sure done, and then it just kept coming out, you get the picture right?! it was so bad! we went home to get me cleaned up because if you can imagine a 39 week pregnant woman puking it wasn't pretty from head to toe... well then started the diarrhea... for 3 hours. finally when that ended i curled up on the couch to sleep and woke up at 2am to what i thought was more diarrhea, but nothing was coming out so then i realized hey i think i can time these pains and realized they were coming every two minutes. i decided i wanted to straighten my hair and time then just in case i really was in labor i didnt want to go to the hospital looking like a hot mess! they stayed consistent and so at 2:45 after doing my hair, folding some laundry, getting shawn up, and making the bed we headed to the hospital because they were still coming every two minutes.

car rides are seriously the worst when your having contractions ps, who knew? we got there they checked me and i was at a 5 so i was staying! i was so worried they were going to tell me it was just diarrhea and send me home so i was relieved to find out i wasn't crazy. by 5am i got my epidural and was maybe at a 7 but things felt slower than with Luke, since with him i went from a 5 to a 10 in no time. finally at about 8:30 i felt that wonderful sensation of needing to push, i loved my epidural this time like last because i could still roll myself over, move my feet and feel pretty much everything, it just took the edge off. They called my doctor and said it would be 10 minutes and he'd be here. i was crowning and ready to go so i just had to hang on unless i wanted the nurse to deliver the baby. if you remember last time my doctor almost missed the delivery because i dilated so fast and i had to literally not push so this time when i had to do that again it didnt even phase me. well 40 minutes later when i still had to not push through each contraction i was so over it... still no doctor. finally they told me another doctor was in the hall if i wanted him to come deliver me, i was going to give my doctor 3 minutes but then a big contraction came and i said i was done. Doctor Larsen walked in maybe 1 minute later i pushed twice and he was out! ps it turns out supposedly my doctor never got the message and showed up 10 minutes later... lame.

... weighing 7lbs 4oz 20 inches born 9:11am 4/9/11. We thought we were going to name him Drew but never loved how it sounded with Shawn and last week i threw out the name ... thinking shawn would never go for it and surprisingly he did!

Recovery has been even easier this time and... is an awesome breast feeder which is a relief because ... was terrible. We stayed one night in the hospital and headed home! ...at first glance looks like...ut then you realize is quite different from his brother. He's mellow however like .... The first few nights he didnt want to sleep on his back but after a few naps of training he's getting the hang of it.

gotta love the outfits we put them in :)

We feel absolutely blessed and so lucky to have two beautiful boys! a family of four, CRAZY!

wow where to even begin. the baby is here, we named him...... is a name i have always loved but it wasn't really on the list of contenders but one day shawn said i like .....what about ....? and that was that, even though we didnt agree on it finally until he was here. .....is after shawn's cousin who passed away a few years ago.

the labor was really good, after they broke my water i seemed to be progressing slow and steady and it looked like i was going to deliver around 5pm. around 3pm i started to feel a lot of pressure and i dilated from a 5 to a 10 in about 20-30 minutes. i had to literally not push for about 10 minutes so the doctor could get to the hospital. then with 2 relatively easy pushes little he was here. he weighed 8 lbs 1 oz 20 inches long. we feel so blessed he is 100% healthy.

so far as we're closing in on our first week of being parents we kinda feel like when does it get hard? haha, now i know it will get harder, much harder, but so far he just chills, eats, poops, and sleeps. the only time he cries is when he has to be undressed, that darn cold! i literally have to wake him to feed him. we know we are so lucky but i know all you moms are thinking oh jana just you wait, yeah yeah i know its comin. it is funny though how much you watch the clock and are aware of their every poop and pee pee... every dirty diaper is a relief because you know things must be working! our little ....is just perfect!

I'm already a terrible mother

Well once upon a time Shawn and I had 2 kittens, Roxy and Zoey... well then we moved in with my grandparents and Roxy didn't transition so well and she peaced out, we really don't know what happened to her. We like to think some nice family is taking care of her since Shawn never will deny a cat food when he sees it in our backyard, he always just assumes they are homeless so we deserve good karma for our pets right? I know isn't Shawn cute... shout out honey love you!

Anyway... one day Shawn brought home Mike and we fell in love with him instantly. As we have moved back into our town home I have been slowly introducing Mike to our backyard. He always seems to get jealous when Zoey comes and goes as she pleases from outside and I was sure he missed the great out doors so I would take him outside and just watch him as he played (is that as weird as it sounded out loud to you as it did to me?).

Well to make a short story that is turning out to be long short, Mike seemed to understand how to come to the back door when he was ready to come in so I got too comfortable with him and on Wednesday I let him and Zoey out at the same time and we haven't seen Mike since... we have a couple theories about what happened...

1. He just got too far from home and he can't find his way back

2. He was a stray and maybe that's the life he just wanted to lead

3. Zoey coaxed him to wander far from home and when he wasn't looking she ditched him

Well whatever has happened we're pretty sad about it, especially Shawn. So we made a flier and he is taking them around the neighborhood.

My mother informed me that I can't just take the baby out back and leave him, thanks mom I get it. I promise I'll be a better baby mom than a cat mom ok!
PS We are just loving and concerned people not crazy cat folk :)
